Control of PCB size by dimension objects

Dear community,

is it possible in Fusion control the board size by dimension objects? I have drawn the PCB shape by lines in 20 BoardOutline layer and also made the dimension for these lines in layer 47 Measures. Unfortunately, when I try to change the dimension object (like in other software) to change the size of the board - I can't do this in Fusion. First of all, there is no possibility to set the size via measure object directly.  At the same time, the dimension object itself isn't connected (associated) with the lines on BoardOutline layer. When I have changed the board shape by dragging the lines on BoardOutline layer, dimension object was not changed, it is not joined to the board outline. Even if during the setting of this dimension object, it looked like snapping to the horizontal/vertical segments. Without that snapping to objects, dimension tool looks useless...

I know that in 3D PCB environment it is possible to control the size via Sketch, but in some cases it is more convenient to do directly in 2D PCB editor. Is there any other possibilities to have associated/snapped to object dimensions in 2D PCB editor?

Hi @oleksandr_velihorskyi,

I hope you're doing well. This is one of the things that is currently not possible in the electronics editor because it originally didn't come from Autodesk. EAGLE was never able to do constraint driven drawings in the 2D PCB and that continues to this date. I'll add your comments to existing requests for this.

We've been able to begin bringing that into the 2D PCB editor with the inferencing engine in the LINE command but we still have a way to go. If you need to be able to control the outline with the dimension objects then doing it in the 3D PCB is the way.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
