So I was trying to dive into using Fusion 360 electronics and I am running into some issues that I can't resolve by searching. I watch 2 videos from Autodesk about an introduction to the electronics workspace and I am running into the same issue each time. In Brad's video, Intro to ECAD, he shows selecting a resistor from the library and then he edits the value.
I tried doing the same thing and I get an error / warning "Part R9 has no user definable value."
I watched the video again and realized that he had installed another resistor library that looked identical to the one that came loaded already but his library was editable and the preloaded one was not.
Can someone explain the reasoning behind having to install what looks like 2 identical libraries but only one can actually have the values edited?
I am also running into an issue that after some time working on the schematic, when I go to add parts again, no preview comes up with the part so I can't see where I am placing it and I can't see the rotation until after I click to place it, then I have to move and/or rotate the part to get it where I want. Am I the only one seeing this issue or have I inadvertently clicked some setting where you don't want to see the part before you place it on the schematic?
Any help is appreciated.

Hi @tlumWWPF3,
I hope you're doing well. Go into the library manager and make sure to accept any updates. As far as I know that was a mistake in how the library was built. It should be corrected already.
If not you can use the rcl library in the Available tab.
Now the other issue you mention I'm not familiar with. Could you elaborate a bit more? Do you mean to say that when you select the part and click Add you don't see the part hanging on your mouse cursor?
Best Regards,

Hi @MemeStLeu ,
I hope you're doing well. As far as I know this was corrected. If you go into the library manager make sure you have all of your libraries updated.
If you do have the latest libraries, then it's possible maybe a library was missed. Could you let me know what library you are seeing this in.

I am having the same problem. I can press 'Change Anyway' and make the change, but what the heck?

Hello @gero.nootz,
I'm assuming this is a resistor you made yourself? If you did go into the library and open the component. Set the value radio button to On.
Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
