Hi @Manu_Roelants_Student ,

I hope you're doing well. The selection of ports on modules is EXTREMELY finnicky, this is an area we want to improve. Something that can help is making sure you have the command you want to perform on the port already active and the ctrl plus left click where the body and the port meet.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hey,

Thanks for the reply
Could you point me to a document, or give me the commands for: Removing a port and moving a port?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Manu_Roelants_Student ,

I've been trying for a little bit, but I can't find a way to remove a port😔. To Move a port activate the MOVE command and then hold ctrl plus left click in the spot indicated by my cursor in this image.

This definitely needs to be improved.

I am trying and trying, but Ctrl+LeftClick will not select the port wherever I click,

Is there a way to do this with a text command?

I do think it is bad that such a serious UI issue has not been solved after at least 3 years (Going by a 2018 Eagle Forum post I hit when I googled for this). Autodesk have known about it for years, and yet don't think it's important that modules are so severely hamstrung. I get that the rest of the old Eagle user experience is also very clumsy, so there is much to improve, but this is the only area that seems unusable unless you are a mouse Ninja.

Update: In the end I did manage to select the port. And then while I was congratulating myself for finally pulling it off, Fusion crashed as I attempted to move the connected wire to the new port location. On opening the recovery file all of my ports had disappeared again, leaving me to start over. At least this time I was able to place them in the correct locations. Problem averted this time.

This tool definitely has a quirky personality. I thought kicad was non-intuitive at first, but Eagle/Fusion seems really inconsistent, and counter-intuitive.
