Hello All,

When using Eagle I was able to set the backup save time to whatever I wanted to:

However, now that I am using Fusion360 I am not sure how to set this up.

Another feature that was handy in Eagle, I was able to take any of the backed up files and do a text compare with the most current version to see all changes between the 2. Is this still possible with Fusion360?

Thank you

Andre

p.s. I really want to give Fusion360 a fair chance at PCB design but so far this is not a good experience. As mentioned by a so many other users, cloud storage is a huge turn off. (enough to consider switching to Altium). It also feels "clunky" when routing traces almost like playing a video game while having a bad latency. There are a lot of small things as well that aren't worth mentioning here but definitely affect quality of life while using the software. Just one  example could be, this may be a personal thing but, when I click on "route manual" and type "15" the wire size doesn't change to 15mil like it did in Eagle, you have to use your mouse to click on the Trace Width.

I also fail to see the point of integrating everything when you were already able to export you 3D PCB to Fusion360 with the click of a button from Eagle, it doesn't feel like anyone is gaining anything from switching to Fusion360 but rather losing some of the key things they appreciated from Eagle.

Hi @andre.allain ,

I hope you're doing well. You can set up the backup interval by going to Preferences in Fusion 360. You'll see a field for the automatic backup recovery interval.

It is not possible to download the backups to do comparisons. If you wanted to do a type of comparison you could export two versions of the design and do a comparison on that. The version control within Fusion makes backups less critical since you can always fallback to the previous version of the design.

I'll share your ps feedback with the team. One thing that concerns me now is the latency comment. If you had to quantify it, how much is the latency? A second, half second, etc.

Once Fusion is up and running there shouldn't be any noticeable lag in the routing. The only thing that can maybe affect it is if you have polygons filled.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
