Update attributes in several components at once

Hello.

I checked this topic (https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/eagle-forum-read-only/how-to-change-or-add-attributes-on-multiple-com...) and I am wondering if it is already possible to update existing attributes for several selected components. As far as I know it is not possible, but I would like confirmation.

In case this is not possible is there any ulp you can share for this task?

Regards, Ramon.

Hi @jrhg82ERF6R ,

There are several ways to do it:

1. In the referenced forum thread Jorge wrote that editing via the Inspector was not possible. Since then, it's been implemented for a while, so if you can select exactly the components that all have the attribute you want to edit, it works via the Inspector panel.

2. If these components share the same value AND attribute name, you can edit the value of the attribute in the BOM tool.

3. You can still use the add-attrib.ulp, just be careful how you parameterize it if you use it to edit attributes (existing/non-existing, attribute value change, keep existing ones, etc.)

4. There is an add-in with bulk attribute add/delete/copy/rename support, called Electronics Extended Toolbox. Available in the Autodesk App Store for Win and Mac.

Each one has its strong points, it depends on what/how you want to edit (the name/value of the attribute, only for components that already have the attribute, add/copy it to new ones, easy to select all components that have it, etc)

Best regards,

Paul
