round miter not working on board outline

Hi,

I'm trying to set rounded corners on my PCB, no problem with Top and Bottom GND Polygons, but the miter does not work on the board outline.

No selection filter is set.

Trying with a new empty design, without polygons, only board outline, it works.

Attached is a screenshot.

Any suggestion?

I'm using:

Fusion 2.0.19215 x86_64 [Native]
macOS 14.0 (23A344) on MacBookPro16,2

Thanks

Hi @FrankEagle,

I hope you're doing well. Try typing MITER in the CLI and press enter. In the dialog that pops up, enter a radius for the miter and make sure you pick the rounded miter. Then you can left click on the corner and it will round off.

This assumes that the outline is perfectly closed with no overlaps or crossovers.

Let me know if you continue to run into problems.

Thank you @jorge_garcia

Unfortunately, that didn't work.

Setting "Ignore Violators" allowed me to round the corners on the BoardLayout. I think a possible cause was the presence of castellated pads on the edge of the board, which were constantly violating the DRC. However, I believe the MITER should work regardless.

Hi @FrankEagle,

OK, the push and walkaround violators modes will never violate DRC and they will not allow any actions that would incur a violation. As you correctly discovered that's why the MITER was blocked since you have castellated edges the miter would have likely violated some clearance rule. Ignore violators is Full manual control, where you can do whatever you want. It allowed the MITER.

So the behavior is as expected but some more feedback would be helpful when an action is blocked.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hello, @jorge_garcia !

I am also stuck with a problem working with my PCB outline. I tried turning off Push Violators, but my issue seems more like I am not clicking on the correct spot, since I get immediate audio feedback.

Can you zoom in more on the corner?
Are the lines connected? If you move one line is the other dragged with it? If not, they are not connected and mitter is not possible.

Thanks, @Evert_2N3055 ! I agree, but here are some complications. First, you can see the 2 shades of the background, showing the 4 lines must have created a single polygon (a rectangle).

Here is that corner zoomed to Max:

Can you think of anything else?   Or should I open a support ticket so an Autodesk agent can remote in? Or I can provide a copy of the file here to work with, (attached).
