[Request] Add Via Solder Mask Control to Change Command

With the recent change to vias, where the solder mask default is now "auto" instead of "off", I would love to have the ability to change the solder mask option of these vias without having to pull up the info page for each one. I only realized the change to the default behavior after placing 100+ vias in a new design and I'm not dreading the time it's going to take to change all solder mask option of all of them to "off".

Also, please let me know if this option does exist and I'm missing it. I've looked through the list of options in the change command half-a-dozen times and I don't see anything that'll accomplish this.

It seems Change->Stop->(Off,On) controls this. I was thrown off by the different language (On vs Auto), and I thought I had tried this once without success, but it's working now.

Hi @rob_rare ,

Jorge gave me a tip on how to change them all easily. Set the selection filter to vias only, then select everything in the board (you may want to use Ctrl+A). In the Inspector window you can sort based on the solder mask and select all that are set to Auto. Then you can change them to Off so that they respect the Limit setting. I have also requested the update of the Change command and the cleanup of the naming (On / Off /Auto). You can find a bit more information in this thread.

Best regards,

Paul

Hi Paul, I appreciate you adding your insights to this thread. What you're describing is exactly what I ended up doing once I found correct option in the Change menu. Hopefully Autodesk will correct this language in an upcoming release, but at the very least I hope all this helps someone else stuck in a similar situation.

Thanks,

Rob
