Polygon Pour Slow in latest Update (Fusion 2606.1.22 arm64 [Native])

Hi,

With the latest update, I get a progress window appear briefly every time I route a trace and longer when I am modifying a Polygon Pour. Thermal spokes are not automatically redrawn and I have to swipe the affected pad off screen and back on again to force a redraw.

I'm not sure what this latest unannounced change is meant to achieve, all it does is slow down my workflow and the pop-up windows are annoying. I've made this point before, but as users we shouldn't be seeing these issues as software QA testing should be catching them prior to release.

Hey @al_walker ,

I know I was disappointed too. We didn't make the fix in time for the managed update. So now the fix will come in the February release, unless another managed update happens before that.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hey everyone,

There was another managed update yesterday. This one has the fix for this dialog. Please update ASAP so you can stop dealing with this.

I just updated and thankfully that is gone.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hi @jorge_garcia

I have not had the Processing Polygons dialog box appear, so that is definite progress.

The thermals redraw issue when editing polygon pours still hasn't been resolved however, which wasn't an issue before the update that introduced the dialog box.

Kind regards,

Al

Adding Polygon cutout to remove thermal and pour on left side of pad also causes thermal on right side of pad to also not be redrawn:

After swiping away and back again to force redraw:

Hello @al_walker ,

I was looking through the tickets and I can't find this one. Would you mind creating a new thread to explain this issue a little more and so we don't muddy up this thread? Both images show the cutout on the left side so it's hard for me to figure out what is causing the difference in behavior.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hi @jorge_garcia

Can I refer you to the attachments in the original post at the start of this thread please?

They clearly show the issue with the thermal spokes not being automatically redrawn when tidying up copper pour using Polygon Cutouts.

Screenshot 2026-01-22 at 13.24.59.png

And that it takes a swipe away and back again to force a redraw.

Screenshot 2026-01-22 at 13.25.08.png

This hasn't been fixed with the latest Fusion release which removed the Processing Polygons dialog box

In the first photo, a Polygon Cutout has been drawn to remove some unnecessary copper pour to the left of the the pad.

The isolated pour to the left of the pad should no longer be visible and the thermal spoke to the right should be visible but isn't.

Screenshot 2026-02-06 at 17.53.19.png

Swiping away and back again forces a redraw and the PCB appears as it should.

Screenshot 2026-02-06 at 17.53.35.png

I will copy this post to a new thread so that a new ticket can be raised.

Kind regards,

Al

Hi @s_angelopoulos ,

I can confirm, it came back. I've let the developers know, something was removed or undone because this was fixed. Thanks for the heads up.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

I can confirm it's back on the latest version of Fusion (Fusion 2701.1.18 arm64 [Native] in my case)

You move a trace and you get the dialog, even if it's fast.

So we're back at the same point as we started in this thread.

Hi,

Do you have any ETA on a fix for the performance regression introduced in Fusion 2701.1.18 (arm64 Native)? This has become a serious blocker for our workflow.

Here's what we're experiencing:

• Performance degrades significantly during routing sessions, popup response time starts ok and gradually worsens to 2s+, requiring a full restart to recover
• Frequent crashes when using keyboard shortcuts while a popup is open, this is easy to trigger accidentally out of habit, and if there's no recent autosave, work is lost
• After each crash, the schematic becomes sometime desynchronized from the PCB layout, adding extra recovery time

Is there a way to roll back to the previous version as a workaround in the meantime? Any suggested mitigation would be greatly appreciated while we wait for a fix.

Thank you

Hi @reunan_le-noc ,

I hope you're doing well. It will come in the next managed update, I'm not supposed to give an exact date so I will just say it will be released between 8-10 days from now :).

There is no mechanism to revert to the previous version that I know of. In the meantime the best way to minimize the time of this dialog is to route with unfilled polygons. For now that's the best you can do. I have asked around if there is some way to revert to a previous version and will post if I find something.

One thing I would like to ask is what types of shortcuts do you run that can cause the crash. Really curious about this.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hi,

I hope you are doing well too! Here is a way to reproduce the crash.

Crash trigger

The crash occurs when pressing CMD+Z while the routing popup is open.

Typical scenario

  1. Start routing a trace in the PCB editor

  2. The polygon calculation popup appears

  3. Press CMD+Z while the popup is still open

  4. Fusion crashes

Since I used very frequently during routing and the popup was open long enough, this was quite easy to trigger accidentally.

Workaround
I hadn’t considered routing with unpoured polygons, but after testing it, this does mitigate the slowdown enough to be a usable workaround for now. Thanks for the suggestion.

Because of this, there’s no need to worry too much about the rollback option for the moment, as the workaround looks acceptable for my workflow.

Evidence
I’ve attached a short video showing the error that occurs when CMD+Z is pressed while the popup is active, in case it helps reproduce the issue.

Thanks again for looking into this.

Hi @reunan_le-noc @jorge_garcia

I think there may be some commonality with this issue I reported:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-electronics-forum/fusion-electronics-crashing-when-routing-a-t...

I'm still on the previous Fusion release, pending the update that addresses the return of the polygon popup window, and have found that Fusion was generally stable until I used CMD+Z to undo. In some instances, the crash occurred immediately on typing the shortcut, other times it was a while later. So potentially there are two issues here, one with the polygon popup window and the other with the use of CMD+Z for undo.

@jorge_garcia - you might try duplicating whether CMD+Z causes the issue with the project file that I sent you. It may be a Mac-only issue, but perhaps try CTRL+Z on Windows as well?

Kind regards,

Al

@reunan_le-noc @jorge_garcia

So I tried really hard not to use CMD+Z and was able to avoid Fusion crashing on a routing session that's been going on several hours. The very moment I had a lapse in concentration and hit CMD+Z, Fusion crashed.

Should be easy enough to replicate.

Kind regards,

Al

Following up on this thread, I have now reached the stage where polygons need to remain enabled in order to complete the remaining airwires. At present, however, this causes a significant performance degradation: every time I begin routing a wire, or immediately after completing a route, the application becomes extremely slow, as shown in the attached video.

I understand that a fix is already in progress. My intention here is simply to illustrate the practical impact this issue is currently having on our day-to-day workflow.

Hi @jorge_garcia

Thanks for the heads-up, but again I don't see it documented on the product update page:

https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/blog/march-2026-product-update-whats-new/

Since there are numerous outstanding issues to be resolved with Fusion Electronics (and that's just the ones I've reported), it would be helpful if this page provided details of what has been fixed with each release please.

Kind regards,

Al

Thanks for the update. However, I am already on the latest version (2701.1.27) and I can confirm it is still present.

We have a somewhat complex electronics design file and popup appears on some occasions, especially if more layers are visible when moving a component.

If there is any private way to share the file with you, please let me know and you can check it as well.
