PCB Panalization

Hi,

I am wondering about the current status is regarding the implementation of a feature that enables efficient PCB panalization without the ancient workaround described here. This has been requested for years, and although it may not be an important feature for hobbyists, it is definitely significant for companies that order large quantities of PCBs.

From the perspective of a naive user, the core functions to achieve this are already in place, just not for the purpose of paneling.

1. In the CAM module, there is an easy way to define holding tabs in the contour operation. Can't this be re-used to define mouse-bites?

2. In the Design module, creating rectangular/circular patterns has been possible for ages. Can't this be re-used to create the multiple design instances on the panel?

I would be grateful if this feature could be prioritized in the near future.

Best regards,

Hello @Nordix_42 ,

I hope this message finds you well. I'll add your comments to the existing ticket on panelization. I agree that a lot of the tech necessary for this is available within the Autodesk eco-system, however integrating it all together into a smooth workflow is where the magic is.

Your post will bump the ticket and get more eyes on it.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

This is not only useful for large quantities, but also for companies that perform SMD soldering on their own PCBs. It is more efficient to place components on a panelised set of boards than on a single board one by one. If I have to make a change to the board, the panelisation process has to be repeated each time. It would be great if that future could be smooth!
