MAC - Text selection not working "correctly"

On the Mac, I have a very annoying bug (at least in my opinion it's a bug).  When you double click on text it momentarily highlights the whole word, but then only selects up to the mouse point.

For example, if I were selecting the word "Hello" and I double-clicked just on the right edge of the 'o', it would select the whole word.  However, if I happen to double click between the 'e' and the 'l', it will only select "He".

On Mac, the standard action for double-click of text is to select the whole work, regardless of where the click happens in the word.

Also missing is triple-click - select the whole line.

Hi @robert1356

I hope you are doing well!

Thanks for reporting this issue to us!

But I have a quick try on the text command dialog, the selection works well for me.

Would you mind attaching any screenshots or videos to show the problem?

@panpan_fan I just tried in the text dialog and also do not see the issue there.  However, if you try in the inspector dialog fields, or the attributes dialog fields, it will happen.  It is not 100% repeatable, but it does happen quite often, enough to be quite annoying when I'm doing a lot of component attribute editing.

Sometimes I can make it happen if there is a very slight mouse movement between click 1 and click 2.  Other times, as shown in the attached video, no movement is necessary.

Hi @robert1356

Thanks a lot for your video!

Sorry that I still can't reproduce this issue easily.

(view in My Videos)

Would you mind checking if you can reproduce the same issue in other workspace? For example, you can create a Fusion Design file. Then activate any command dialog to do the selection.

By the way, we also notice that you have the 'arrow' mouse icon when you do the selection. But I have the ‘String’ icon. I am not sure if you have any special mouse settings in you Mac.

Regards,

I will experiment some more and see if I can capture additional information.
