Currently I can export a BOM from the schematic.

If I try to add balloons to an Electronic Drawing or regular drawing of the 3D PCB like I would for a mechanical assembly it only looks to be calling out the various PCB layers. And any parts list doesn't show the actual electronic components.

I would be using this drawing of the 3D PCB for PCB assembly instructions with in hand soldered boards.

Hello @Jim.Swain ,

I hope you're doing well. At this point in time this functionality is not possible.

Currently, the drawings can't consume the electronics BOM. Since that's not possible then the balloon idea won't work either.

I'll create an enhancement request for this.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,

Thank you for the reply and for putting in an enhancement. It is much appreciated.
This does seem odd, as opening the drawing's BOM to allow All Levels and hiding the board layers in the parts list looks like a possible workaround. Jim

The components of the package assmebly is the 2nd level component in the top assembly, so these components will be showed in partlist and auto ballooned with the options of all level, as you found. Sometimes, not all components will be auto ballooned because of view orientation, and we can add balloon manually on these component, showing as attached video.

Thank you. I was able to turn on the All Levels option for the Parts List. I haven't been able to have it see a Description, etc., when I've added those to the components' properties in the 3D PCB.
