How to easily import an entire Altium PrjPCB project into Fusion

Altium has had the ability to effortlessly migrate entire Eagle PCB projects to their software for years now. I've been able to find a couple of mentions on the internet about importing libraries from Altium but what about all the other stuff?

I really want to be able to just launch a conversion wizard in Fusion and simply import an entire Altium project such as this one for the NRF52832-CIAA which Nordic only provides as an Altium PrjPCB project.

P.S. This outdated page supposedly detailing the instructions for exporting to the old Eagle software results in tons of errors for the nRF52 files.

Hi @lsi8PXFWR ,

at the moment there is no way for an easy import of Altium files into Fusion. As you emntioned, there is an older ULP that can help in converting so-called ACCEL-ASCII files. It was written some time ago for EAGLE, but basically also works with Fusion. It's a possible option, but it's nothing I can recommend as a perfect reliable way.

Just one more thought on import/export:

Long time ago (before EAGLE version 6) we (CadSoft Computer) decided to change the binary EAGLE data format to a readable XML format. This is basically the data format Fusion Electronics still uses. Our schematic/board/library files are easily readable and contain all information. So for you, or our competitors it is very easy to create/program a converter that translates Fusion XML into their own (usually proprietary and not well documented) data format. The idea behind this step was the hope that other ECAD tools follow our way and we could establish an easy and reliable exchange data format in the ECAD world. So no one wanted to do this and open their systems to others. But actually for EAGLE it was a big advantage. Our community highly appreciated this step and we and you still benefit from it.

I am sure our electronics team is aware of the request of having more options to import data into Fusion Electronics.

Hi @lsi8PXFWR ,

just wanted to add some more information..

There is an easy option to convert Altium library files. Just log into your account at library.io and upload the Altium library file. It will be converted into a Fusion library.
