How to change the Name for a group of vias after a schematic Name change

I keep hitting an in-ability to get VIAs on the PCB to go to a new net name changed on the schematic.

On schematic and PCB I start with a net name of  PWR1 that goes from a power supply off to other places on the board.  This is all well and good but the power supply has itself many VIAs all assigned to PWR1.

At some later time I want to lets say put in a jumper from the power supply section to the rest of the board.

On the schematic I remove connection from power supply to rest of board PWR1 net.  All ok so far.

Now on schematic I use Name for the segments on the power supply and use just this segment then I name the power supply new net as lets say  PWR1SRC or whatever which I want to be local to just this power supply section.  Also all ok still and shows on PCB 2d editor.

After the above since I have polygon pours in the power supply that were for net PWR1 I then change polygon pour net to PWR1SRC.   At this time it acts in a way where the polygon pours now connect to components that are on the changed schematic on the new PWR1SRC net.   As expected, the VIAs seem all that is left on old net of PWR1.

HERE IS WHERE I GET STUCK!   Since there are many VIAs in the power supply section that were all only on PWR1 I am unable to figure out how to get those VIAs to now be assigned to PWR1SRC and re-connect to my polygon pours that are now on PWR1SRC

In the past I have had smaller cases of this and just removed the vias and made new vias for net PWR1SRC.

Since I have a TON of these vias many of which are between BGA pads and very touchy to place I very badly want to use selection filter to select just VIAs and then once these are all selected use Inspector to change just the name of all of these VIAs net to PWR1SRC.    

I just cannot get this to work.   I ran across a note on a web hit which 'may be old' or may be current limitation but it comes up on google hit for search of 'fusion 360 re-assign via net name not working'  but basically that AI hit (which may be invalid for older Fusion) says:

'Reassigning a via to a new net name sometimes fails in Fusion 360 due to a known limitation in the software's electronics workspace, which was inherited from the legacy EAGLE CAD platform. The issue is particularly common when trying to rename an existing via to a new, unconnected net. 

Workarounds for existing vias

Delete and recreate the via    (removed rest of text for this post).  blah blah blah ... '

QUESTION: Is there a way to change the net to the new net for a group of VIAs or worse case one at a time that will place the via back on the new net without having to remove and re-form new via in this case PWR1SRC?

Hi @mjstn2011 ,

This is still a limitation and most Fusion/EAGLE users have kind of learned to avoid this workflow. If you don't want to have to redo the vias you can use polygons to connect the PWR1 and PWR1SRC signals together. There's a "feature" where you polygons of the same rank will connect even if they have different names. So create a poly that connects to all of the PWR1 vias and another polygon named PWR1SRC and have them overlap a little. 

This will generate a DRC error but you can approve it.
