Dialogs ridiculous huge at every startup

Everytime I start Fusion360 and open a project, Fusion360 resets their dialogs on the left and on the right side.
This happens in schematic editor as well as in layout editor.

I always edit the dialog views to my peferences (I only edit the size) but Fusion keeps on having amnesia.

Please view the attached screenshots.

I work in the office with and external (ultra-wide) monitor and in homeoffice without external monitor with 18:9 aspect ratio.

To be honest, I do not recall if this problem happens only when I switch from HO to office or the other way around.

Hi @lars.jepkens , @Bruce ,

So sorry to hear about that you're having trouble.

We see the similar issue sometimes too and our dev team is investigating this issue.

May we know whether you used Fusion Insider build in the same machine ago?

Could you please try to File menu > View > Reset to default layout > Close Fusion > Relaunch Fusion?

Hope the workaround works for you.

We will keep you be posted if any we have.

Thank you!

Best regards,

Helen

Hi @Bruce ,

Thank you very much for your reply.

Have you tried the workaround and see whether it works for you or not?

For the Fusion Insider Program, you could get more information from below page. Feel free to join in this Insider program if you are interested in early access to next official version of Fusion 360, several weeks before it is released to the general public.

Hope you have a great day!

Helen

Hi Helen,

just trying it now. BTW, is there a "hide place components" option too?

thanks,

Bruce.

Hi @Bruce ,

Thank you for asking.

Currently we don't have such option to hide place component panel.

May I know why do you want to hide it? It's a frequent used panel I think.

Hi Helen,

RE- your comment - in brand new designs, with all new components/libs maybe. - i prefer extra room for schematic entry.

As a 20+ years Hardware design engineer, much (80%+) work is a up-rev of older version of hardware, or Cut and pasted from another eagle design. Its true of both HW engineers in big firms, or me as an independent design engineer. We recycle what we know works in an electronics design so the magic smoke doesn't come out.

A case of DFWIB (dont fix what isn't broken).

Laying down new schematics symbols is a very small (easy!) part of the process - i just use icon/ pin "place component" to task bar, and dig through libs on a as-needed basis.

Back to the showing panels, yes, F360 ECAD remembers my preferences now, thumbs up!

Maybe i should join the insiders program... is it possible to toggle between it and full release on same machine?

Bruce.

Hi @Bruce,

Thank you very much for confirming the reset to default layout works for you.

For your comments about the place component panel, I will forward back to our dev team.

For Insider build, it will have Insider tag in the shortcut icon to distinguish with the official production build. Hope it helps. Looking forward to your joining in the Insider program.
