Confusion on selection filter use if I want to move an edge on a polygon on a specific layer

I am confused on just what Design Manager - Filter does and does not do.  I am up to date in updates for Fusion360 pcb.

If I want to move a polygon edge on a specific layer but I may have edges for 2 layers in same X or Y.

I thought that if I selected Obj  = Polygon Edge   AND  OnLayer  2  (for example) that if I clicked on an edge then to move it OR highlight it it would only highlight or consider action on what matches the filter.

Likewise if I want to move some vias on a polygon pour I thought if I used Design Manager - Filter with just  Object = VIA then if I outline things perhaps containing other non-via things that ONLY the Vias would be selected and then able to be moved for the group move

It seems that mouse click overrides the filter.

So what actions does Design Manager - Filter have any effect upon?   Im a bit puzzled on the inability to restrict actions of select and moves of things.

Thanks,  Mark

Hello @mjstn2011 ,

I hope you're doing well. See the image below, when you do the filter in the design manager is gives you the results at the bottom of the design manager. If you only want to select those objects or a subset of them then you click them here. It's simpler than filling out the filter and then trying to make the selection in the canvas.

The canvas selection is controlled by the selection filter panel.

Let me know if you run into issues.

If I select an area of my PCB and then go to the Filter section I cannot get it to show the objects like you discuss.

I attach a screen shot.   Is there some other thing that must be checked or something?

New insight.  If I KISS and just say show polygon edges in selection filter I get all edges on entire board (like over 50).

If I add   besides PolygonEdge for just layer 2 then I get nothing.  Perhaps I must say 'layer 2' in some very precise way?   I have tried adding 'OnLayer' and   '2' and some other names for layer 2.   If I state polygon edge AND a layer nothing shows.

Furthermore if I say PolyGon edge even if I have formed selection rectangle over area of the polygons I want to modify the lower right seems to show ALL polygon edges in the entire board  (outside of my selection box).

I hope I have stated this well.   Thanks for any thoughts on this.   Mark

@mjstn2011

It seems that you have to put the name of the layer and NOT the number.

In my opinion, it should probably work with both. (Layer Number and Name)

See my example below:
