Component Decals

I have created a custom library component and applied a decal which appears correctly in the library manager but does not show on the 3D PCB. What's the trick here? Thanks!

Hi @kterryTYYYC,

I hope you're doing well. When you push to 3D PCB you could try the most detailed preset and it will probably include the decals but the tradeoff is a longer time to process.

I'll talk to a dev to confirm the behavior but I'm pretty sure this is what's going on.

Hi @kterryTYYYC , the decals on the parts should be supported. Can you open the library document, go to content manager and open the 3d package, see if the decal appears there?

Thanks for your suggestions, I have tried push with most detailed preset as Jorge suggested, that didn't work. Opened the model from the content manager in the library document and it appears correctly there. Still won't appear in the 3D PCB.

Hi @kterryTYYYC ,

I hope you're doing well. Could you try peforming a library update on your design? If you added the 3D model recently, then you need to update the design to reference the latest version of the 3D model. Go into the schematic > Library section and select Update libraries. Then try to push to 3D again.

Does the decal show up now?

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,

Nope, sorry Jorge, still not working. Library update said "Nothing to do". Push to 3D PCB still does not show the decal.

@kterryTYYYC , can you try to break the link in the 3d package, create a new version and update again?

Thanks for the suggestion, I did what you said and unfortunately it made no difference ...

@kterryTYYYC , I confirmed this is a regression. The decals were supported before. I will log a ticket for this issue.

I thought I was missing something, I had the latest update and while my decal looked correct in the library manager I still wasn't seeing it in the 3D-PCB. I tried breaking the link and did a new Push to 3D PCB, also tried creating a new project using this part, and that didn't work either. But then I tried adding the decal in the original uploaded model (not the package editor as I had been) and voila! SUCCESS!! Thanks for the update guys!
