Component creation: problem of pads placement on the 3D view.

Hello,

I'm a new user of FUSION 360, and here's my first question:

I'm discovering the creation of components in FUSION 360 and I notice something strange about the 3D view of the component.
In my example I create a connector with a 1.25mm pitch (pads):

footprint_viem_pas_1.25mm.JPG

when I switch to the 3D view the pitch of the footprint goes to 1mm (it makes a kind of rounding of the value?)

Do you have an explanation on this point?

Thank you in advance for your help.

David LAMBERT.

Hi @dav.lamb22

Thanks for reporting this issue and hope you are doing well.

Have you got the steps to reproduce the issue? What I mean is how would footprint in library and 3D package be out of sync with no remind.

If you don't remember the detailed steps, could you please share with us: Have you edited the footprint and close the library window during editing?  Have you inserted xref design into 3D package and save?

That would help us to locate the issue if you could provide more information.

Hello,

In fact I have the same problem on all the components I create.

I will completely recreate a footprint : please find video joint.

in the example : connector 96 pins 2.54mm.

Best Regards.

I have reported similar Issue 3 months ago, another user @Anonymous I remeber as well. Whats more, sometimes the pads from footprint are not transferred to the  3D sketch, only some lines. But when You restart fusion and repeat the process again they are transferred.

Hello,

Thank you Christopher indeed this problem looks a lot like mine, this makes me fear that my problem is not going to be solved easily.

The problem at home that even a reboot doesn't fix the issue.

Best Regards.

David.

Hello to the AUTODESK team,
I have just bought your FUSION 360 solution, I have on my side a big constraint customer to deliver on time an irreproachable work.
I am frankly worried about your response time to my problem (and this is the first one I've told you about!).
Can we have a direct contact in order to know if my problem can be solved?

Do I need to look for another software solution now?
Thank you in advance.

Hi, @dav.lamb22

Totally understand your feeling and I feel quite sorry about that. We are investigating and try to reproduce this issue.

It seems not reproducible on my English OS, I have tried for multiple times and followed exactly the same steps as you demonstrated in the video.  So that configuration is one area that might be the reason, I suspect.

One more question is, Are you using non-English OS? Or is there any specific configuration exists?

We are trying our best to locate the problem.

Thanks,

Yiqiu

You are lucky that your pads are being transferred to 3D editor, sometimes they are not.

Working? or better fighting with 3D packages in fusion cost 20-30% of work time, just skip this and your project is done. This is the most non efficient software, starting from missing shortcuts to switch layers.

You get what you pay for...

Hi, @dav.lamb22

The issue you reported has been resolved with the latest Fusion update (2.0.11183+), if you open the inconsistent footprint and 3D package, syncing would proceed automatically. Save the file could resolve the inconsistent problem. I am sorry for the long-term waiting, Would you please have a try?

Thanks,
