Changing owner of hub

I am part of a hub that has an owner that is not working at the university anymore. Therefore, that hub now has only 'basic access' so we cannot save or export any of the drawings in it. Is there a way to change the owner of the hub? The former employee does not have access to his university account anymore.

Hi @guillermo_amadorJVYPR

Can you please Private Message me the email address of the person who was the owner of this Team and the email address of the person who should be promoted to Admin of this site? The second person will need to have an active license of Fusion.

Thanks,

-Dan

Hi @guillermo_amadorJVYPR

Thanks for the email addresses. You are already an Admin on the luc1 Team / Hub. With your account you should be able to export files or transfer projects between Hubs. Here is a link that explains the steps to transfer a project.

How to transfer files and projects between Hubs in Fusion

Please let us know if this information help.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the quick replies. Unfortunately, even as admin, I am not able to transfer or do anything besides just open and look at the files in the Biomimetics Lab hub. I am attaching a screenshot of the Fusion Team website while I'm in the hub. In the top right it still says 'Basic access', and when I click on the drop-down menus for any of the projects there is only a greyed out 'Archive' option, so I am unable to transfer.

Thanks,

Guillermo

Hi @guillermo_amadorJVYPR

Thanks for the additional information and the screen capture. When you sign into Fusion, does it state (Education License)?

I also asked the engineering team to look into this issue.

Thanks,

-Dan

Yes, it does specify the (Education License) in the top corner. I am attaching a screenshot. It also shows the 'Basic Access' for the 'Biomimetics Lab' hub. Thanks for also contacting the engineering team!

Hi @guillermo_amadorJVYPR

The team is looking into the problem. It looks like the original owner of the Hub had a Personal license which may be casing the issue.

I'll keep you posted.

Hi @guillermo_amadorJVYPR

We assigned the luc1 account a temporary education license of Fusion. Can you please try to sign back into Fusion and the  Hub at https://login.autodesk360.com.

If you're currently signed in, please sign out and then sign back in.

Please keep us posted.

Hi,

I just signed out and signed back in, but I'm still seeing the 'Basic Access' message on both my browser and Fusion360 software. If this is not solvable, is there a way to just have someone transfer the files to the other hub 'EZO32806 Biomimetics' (mywur46.autodesk360.com)? I still have full access to that hub, and I'm just interested in getting access to my drawings again, since I need a few of them for the course I'm currently teaching.

Thanks,

Guillermo

Hi @guillermo_amadorJVYPR

The engineering team expired the account for the luc1 Hub. Can you try to sign in again and see if the Basic Access has been removed.

Thanks,

-Dan

Hi,

Unfortunately, I'm still getting the 'Basic Access' message. If this isn't resolved this week, could we please just transfer the files? I really need some of the drawings next week for my course.

Thanks for all your help so far!

-Guillermo

Hi @guillermo_amadorJVYPR

Thanks for trying again. I’ll inform the engineering team that the change to the Hub didn’t work.

I’ll ask about exporting the files and see if this is an option, or if they have another solution.

I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for your patience as we figure this out.

Hi @guillermo_amadorJVYPR

Thanks for trying again. Can you please try one more time? The team made another change to the luc1 Hub.

The engineering team cannot export files out of teams. I was told that you should be able to export files in a Basic Access Hub. Here is a link to an article that explains how to Export designs in Fusion Team. Note that  you'll need to export the design files individually.

Keep us posted.

Hi Dan,

Thanks so much for your help! I didn't get a chance to reply yesterday, but it does indeed work now and I can fully access the drawings in the hub. Thanks a lot for your patience!

Thanks,

Guillermo

Hi @guillermo_amadorJVYPR

Thanks for the update. I’m glad that you were able to transfer the projects.

Note that the team added a short trial to the luc1 hub. You should have a week or so to access this hub with Admin rights. Then it will revert back to basic access.

Thanks for your patience as we figured out a solution.
