Wrong origin used on new drawing

Hello

I am trying to create individual drawings of components and sub assembles, But i am having issues with the origins

when i create a drawing of a active component it is not using the components origin.

The origin of the assemble is being used. The only work around i've found is to copy the component and then create drawing

but then i lose my links to the assemble.

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the forum!  There is a workaround for your issue and we have been discussing possible solutions.  The discussion here http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-validate-document/drawings-dimensioning/m-p/6034778/highlight/true#M45632 should help you.  You want to create a "Named View" that aligns with one of the planes of the component origin.  Let me know if you need further assistance.
