Workstation for Fusion

Hi everyone, 

Looking to get a new workstation, mainly to run Fusion on it and I have 2 serious questions before ordering one:

1. Should I get an RTX PRO card or will I literally not notice the difference between a regular RTX card? I understand the support for the pro cards will be better but I do not feel like there will be a big difference in performance between 2 similar spec'd cards? Or is there? 

2. Has had anyone any experience with workstations build by FENN Systems? Chances are small anyone reading this will be from Belgium or the Netherlands, but hey.

No need to get a RTX Pro card.

1. Most "Pro" graphics cards use the same hardware as consumer/gaming cards but are a generation or two behind.

2. They use "certified" (software) drivers for OpenGL. Fusion and Inventor don't use the OpenGL API but DirectX.

I would rather spring for more RAM than for a higher end graphics card.

For a pure CAD workstation single core performance is more important than number of cores. Look at boost clock speeds.

My machine at work is a 6 year old Dell Precision Laptop with 32GB of RAM an Nvidia Quadro T2000 released in 2019! 

I often work in large assemblies with 10000 parts and more.

At home I have a Ryzen 5950X machine with 64GB of RAM and an RTX3070Ti.

Even my mid 2017 MacBook Pro runs most of what I do fine. I have run into RAM limitation as the thing only has 16GB.

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. The OpenGL thing made it very clear for me that I do not need a PRO card.
Money saved on this card can indeed go towards more memory or storage, although the step up to 64GB is stupidly expensive right now..

I'm guessing there is a very slim chance anyone here has bought from FENN Systems...?
