Hello everybody,
i'd like to ask how one is supposed with STL files in FUSION:
I got a complex model of a hand, Like the white gloves of Mickey Mouse. and that model is an STL file.
I cant do ANYTHING with that! i'd like to turn it into a solid model.
- i tried to re-mesh it. that didnt work because it has triangle mesh, which doesnt work with Splines, and FUSION aborts immediately.
- When i lower the Mesh density i get a piece of something vaguely resembling mickes hand.
- I tried to use the 'combine' function, and pack the model into a box, and get the intersect model out of it. but i cant choose the STL as a tool body
- I tried to cut a body with a surface. but there again, i cant use the STL as a tool body.
- i cant use 'thicken' because again, i cant pick the STL
what else than printing can i do with an STL in FUSION???
Thanks for your help
Solved! Go to Solution.
In "Model" mode, click the "modify" tab, go down to Mesh and click "Mesh to B-rep". Let me know if that works for you.
Hah, Thanks!
Now i got a body, or better, a thin shell.
cool, thanks! whenever i tried to convert, fusion immediately aborts the conversion due to the 'false' mesh.
but this actually worked..
Thanks!
