Working out arc for iPhone

Hello,

I’m trying to design some cases for the new iPhone 12’s.

I was able to download a iPhone XS sketch before and just go of off that but there is no good sketches available for the iPhone 12..

getting the hight width and depth is pretty self explanatory which leaves me with a box..

how do I measure the arc on the corners perfectly without having a phone Infront of me?

and what’s the best way to go about it?

thanks in advance 🙂

The corner fillets on iPhones and most other high-end phones are not arcs or in other words, they are not circular fillets. They are created with splines that blend into the sides with G2 curvature continuity.

You don't have to measure a thing. Apple makes their accessory design guidelines available for free.

Thank you for your response very helpful..

Can I copy the page from Apple and simply sketch around it to make sure it’s perfect? Seen someone on YouTube do that but not sure how effective it is.

edit - or what is the most effective process to do this?

thanks

I woul create a screenshot and calibrate it to the dimensions provided in Apples pdf. Then I'd start sketching based on that, but also dimension the main straight portion of the geometry. The rounded corners I would try to match visually.
