Wire with pre-tension and applied force - model not pivoting

Hi,

I'm trying to simulate a wire with a pretension and an applied load at the midpoint of the wire (the wire has been modeled as a cylinder). I've applied sliding contacts at the location where I want the wire to pivot. Could you advise why the wire is not rotating around the cylinder to behave as it would in reality under these loads?

I've attached my Fusion model above.

Thanks

Not sure about aspect ratio, but I think you have these constraints incorrect.

Thank you, I've now got the wire to rotate as a pinned connection. The next problem is that the deflection values are far higher than expected. We have carried out physical testing on this wire with the same applied loads and the deflection was 500mm (x direction), however the FEA results are showing around 2500mm.

The material properties for the wire are: Yield strength - 1300Mpa, UTS -  1900Mpa and Youngs's Modulus - 100Gpa, which is what I have assigned as the material properties on the setup.

Do you think the difference is due to the way in which FEA applies the pretension to the wire ? Or could it be due to the wire being modeled as a cylinder ?

Updated model attached.
