Why wont this flat pattern export to a legit DXF file?

I have need to laser this pattern and therefore I need a proper DXF file.

For some reason I cannot even get the flat pattern to generate the DXF.

If I try and usde the sketch/project method, my laser program tells me it is not a closed shape (which is impossible becasue it is a single solid body ).

Any ideas?

Mark.

I have been working with large panels needed to be represented as a DXF for cutting.  To get good success, you need to create a single sketch component and save it to the Cloud.  You need need to open that one component and use the Export command to create the DXF.  This process has worked very well for our production.  I have attached the single sketch component and the generated DXF to this post.  The DXF has been tested in both AutoCAD 2025 and Fusion.

By the way, you have some pretty fine detail in your model, I will be surprised if that detail survives the laser cutting process.

I was finally able to get this cut.  I appreciate your solution and what I ended up doing was to generate a sketch, project the profile to the sketch plane and then export that profile to DXF.

It was still hosed up so I ended up using some other DXF editing tools to get my final profile (attached).

My big complaint is that Fusion simply rewfuses to export the flat pattern as a dxf.  My expectation is that if it is a legit flat pattern, then it should be exportable or at least I expect to get some useful info on where/why the export failed.
