Drawing dimension to point where two tangent circles meet.

I'd like to be able to put a reference dimension to the point where two tangent circles meet each other. I'll add a zoomed in screenshot here in a second for an idea. Something where I can dimension from either the end of the part to that point or from the same points across from each other on a round part and give a reference diameter.

I'm having a hard time finding any clicking method that will allow me to get a snap to that exact point.

In that picture you can see how it is snapping to the one circle and just as I get to the point where they meet, it ignores that point and just highlights the other circle. I've tried right-clicking prior on the circle and trying all options in there (endpoint being the one I though most likely to work). I've also tried holding shift and/or ctrl. No luck getting that selection.

Thanks for any help. Hope I'm not missing something silly, haha.

I have no problem selecting that intersection and placing a driven dimension in the sketch during part design. It is only during drawing creation I can't place that.

in the pic you supplied, it looks like you're dimension type is for a diameter or radius-

you would need a linear dimension type to select points

It was technically the auto dimension I guess, (hotkey D), but I had actually tried the linear dimension as well and that also did not snap to that intersection. That just wasn't the time I happened to take the screen shot.

auto-dim and linear both work fine for me without having to do anything special.  you may need to post your file and/or do a screen cast of what you're doing.

Hmm, very strange. I was able to make a new quick test model with similar geometry and had no issues, everything just worked fine like you mentioned.

So, I went back to my original model, and double checked the sketch. And it is indeed a good, tangent connection at the spot where I can't pick up. I then tried to zoom in very close and use the trim tool to see if any extraneous stuff was going on, but nope, everything was very clean. I even one at a time, deleted each of the circles and placed them anew.

Guess it is just one of those things...

Wish I could share that model for you guys to take a look at, but sadly, that is a no go in this particular case. For now I just picked up the spot with a driven dimension on the sketch and hand wrote it on the drawing. Will just have to let it go. Wouldn't be surprised if I started over and drew it from scratch that it would work fine, but I think I'll just let it go. For now. Maybe I'll revisit that on some other day where I have a bit more time. Or maybe at home one night.

Thanks for your time @laughingcreek
