Hi,

I've been designing replacement rubber collar for my rowing machine. During that I've noticed that extrude command is not allowing me to select certain profiles. If you know why, please let me know. I've attached picture of the body with selected profiles.

Workaround is to use offset face command, but still I'd like to know why it's not possible to use extrude.

hard to say for sure without the design.  But, profiles will be unselectable if they are non-planar, or if they are not co-planar with other selected profiles.  For the same extrude, all profiles must be co-planar

Faces are planar and co-planar as well. But not even single one of them can be selected when configuring extrude command.

Link to the design is https://a360.co/3RHc0X9  . I've also attached it to this post.

This is at opposite end from your question - but is it your design intent to have this little sliver of no material?

And these faces are not planar.

You can tell that by trying to create a new 2D sketch on these faces.

I would have used a single Revolve rather than these two Lofts...

Not sure about Emboss here.

I think that results in a conic (very slight angle) face rather than a planar face...

CADWhisperer >> You are correct, sir. The issue is caused by slight conic. Since the taper angle is so small, I did not realize, that emboss operation may create non-planar faces.

@urban.novak7BLW5

Did you figure out simple solution using Revolve and Extrude rather than Loft and Emboss?
