Why doesn't this arc constrain?

this is something that's bothered me for some time. fusion is so random with what is constrained and what is not. check out these arcs. All drawn as centerpoint + two point arcs. Note the top two were happily constrained with just a centerpoint and the implicit intersection nodes.

the bottom, however, doesn't constrain (remains blue), even if i explicitly add points at the intersection nodes. all those node points are constrained, too, yeah, because they're black?

This has driven me nuts for years, and I'd like to finally understand it.

It works fine on my Windows 11 machine.  Share your file and/or make a video of your workflow.

Your Arc center is missing a Coincident constraint to the circle center point.  Simply sketching the arc on center sometimes does not automatically apply the need sketch constraint.

interesting. is that true even if i explicitly place a node there?

honestly, that looks like a bug.

@bryancostanichwlabs

Whenever geometry doesn't show as constrained - do the logical thing, click and drag it.

That should show the missing constraint.

BTW - you are working wayyy too hard in creating your geometry.  There is a better way.

looks like a bug to me also.

when that square glyph shows up at the cursor, it should mean it is going to apply a constraint.  on the nodes that have circles it isn't applying the constraint.  seems like something about this is confusing the sketcher.  @Phil.E ?

@laughingcreek Thanks. Looks like something for the sketch team.
