Why can't I add a horizontal/vertical constraint?

I've sketched a ratchet, and I want to constrain the (originally horizontal) line segment to be horizontal. Fusion 360 refuses, but I don't really know why.

The design: http://a360.co/29AXzkc

Help please!

thanks,

Ronen

I was able to get it to work. Do you have sketch constraint status color preview enabled in the Preferences?

Here's a video recording:

I've attached the file for your reference. I hope that it helps!

I do have the sketch constraint status color preview enabled, disabling it seems to do the trick.

What does that have to do with failing to add the constraint?

Is that a bug?

We are still working out some kinks which is why the status color is in preview. I would say it looks like a bug to me. Sorry about the confusion! I will add this test case for our development team to review.

Thanks for reporting this!

I recommend that you pattern features rather than sketch entities. (see attached)

What are the merits of making the pattern in 3d rather than on 2d?

One thing I can think of is that you have a history line, which unfortunately is not supplied for 2d sketches.

Other pros?
