I want to close the space between the letters.

Isn't the purpose of Fusion 360 to design beautiful products? All products include text. Beautiful products have good-looking text. It is fundamental to design that you want to beautifully adjust the space between letters. No matter how great your design is, you don't want to use ugly words with far out of character space. This is not a feature unique to the dtp program. This is a basic feature to consider in any program related to design. Autodesk should actively respond to a resolution for this issue.

do "all" products include text? In 20 years of product design I have only very rarely needed to include text on a product.

Can we se an example of what you're trying to achieve please?

You may be better off importing the text you want from a vector graphics software, but without an example this is difficult to say.

"Autodesk should actively respond to a resolution for this issue" - I will leave that for an Autodesk employee to comment on 😉

You questioned the presence of text in all product design. If you imagine sketching, rendering product designs, you are right. But can a product without text actually exist?

Manufacturer, model number, function key, date of manufacture and even unknown numbers. You can find it easily by looking at any product near you right now. You don't even need a photo example. Some are engraved or embossed.

This kind of thing is the role of graphic designers, so product designers don't care?.

I admire Autodesk's software, which is error-free and capable of almost anything. It's nonetheless calling into question its inability to close letter spacing, which is a fairly minor feature.

When applying a brand-specific font to product design, if I can only close the space between letters, it will really save time.

@hamocean If you use the text on path option you can check Fit To Path then you can dimension the length of the path to control the spacing, bigger or smaller.

Thank you very much.

It really helped me a lot.

To close the text spacing, it must apply the text to the path and then adjust the length of the path!

If so, could I know how to keep the spacing consistently close to the letters on each piece of text with a different number of characters?
