Hello,
I am a 3D CAD beginner. I would like to start a design with some downloadable 3d parts. I can choose a lot of formats on the download. So I am not sure which format is the best to go with fusion 360.
As an example here is the link where I would like to download a few parts.
models ... on the right side you can find the download button there so many formats.
thanks a lot,
mathias

Hi @ecam6P6WJ,
STEP or Inventor should work just fine. Notice when you are importing the model, it will be imported as a solide and you will be in Direct mode design.

Can you explain that a little bit more... "it will be imported as a solide and you will be in Direct mode design".
Do you mean I can modify that? Can I look it anyway?

Of course you can modify it. Actually Direct modeling is really good for modifying an imported components. But you can also use History Based modeling, depends on what kind of changes you want to make.
