When is the "edit feature" command available?

I'm not sure what I'm doing or not doing, but it seems like sometimes I can click on a body and the "edit feature" is available, and other times I cannot make it appear.  Is there state the body has to be in for command to be available, or perhaps I have to click a certain sequence of things?

Thanks

Betty

I've only noticed it when I want to edit a sketch, it seems quite random. Sometimes the only way I been able to edit the sketch is to fine it in the browser, right click and select edit sketch there.

yes, this is a bug.  It doesn't happen all the time, and it's proving to be more challenging to track down than you might at first imagine.  Something goes wrong in the state of the selection machinery.  We're working on it.  Until then, the workaround described here (click in empty space) seems to reset the selector.  I know it's not ideal.
