What would cause a sketch to be un-editable?

I created a Sketch a couple of days ago and used it for a Revolute operation.

Today I realized that I needed to edit the Sketch, so I selected it in the browser, right-clicked, and selected the Edit Sketch option. The Sketch Palette appears and the selected Sketch is positioned in the center of screen. I can do things like drawing new lines. BUT I can't select any of the existing lines. I can't even select the new line that I just added. It's as if they're not even there.

So, what can possibly cause a Sketch to effectively be un-editable?

Further tests reveal that I can't edit ANY sketches for the specific component, even though I CAN edit sketches within other components. There's an icon I've never seen before adjacent to the problem component. Right clicking on it doesn't bring up any info about what the problem might be. So, what does that icon mean?

And, by the way, I was in the process of successfully editing some of that component's sketches and having it correctly update the model when all of a sudden the most recent attempt at editing a sketch for the component failed to allow actual sketching. No doubt that's when that icon appeared for the component.

I tried rolling back the history marker to the very start of that component and the Circle/Slash icon is still there.

What does it mean?

yo probably hit "un-selectable" by accident during a right mouse click.

While the selectable/unselectable setting is most likely the right answer, if the sketch is part of a base feature it also can only be edited when you enter that base feature. That has had me question my sanity in past more than once 😉

Does that (selectable/un-selectable) account for that icon for the component, including a slash/circle on it? Is that what that icon means?

I "fixed" my problem by going to a previous version of the model and rebuilding the necessary parts. When I got it back to how I wanted it, there was no slash/circle icon on the component. So, maybe it was an inadvertent action, a slip-of-a-click, of making it unselectable.

It would still be nice to be able to click on (right-click on, hover over) an icon and get an explanation of what it means.

Yes, the circle and slash is toggled with the selectable/un-slectable option.
