Hi, I've been struggling with offset plans with topographical sketches and I was wondering if there is a difference between setting the Offset Plane tool and setting its distance and simply using the Move tool to move the entire sketch geometries up along its Z axis?

The reason I ask is that I need to change some offsets for some of the topographic sketches and have not found a way yet to set a new distance relative to the selected plan for the sketch. Redefine Sketch Plane does not allow me to redefine the distance, only the plane.

Thx again, Pierre

Moving in Z will convert the sketch to a 3d sketch.

Most of the 2d sketch tools will Now not work in the 3d sketch.

See my answer in the other question, Edit the current position with Edit Feature, and value changes.  If you can use the Change Parameters, Edit the value for the plane in that Dialogue.

Move is not recommended to new people, avoid it!

Might help...
