What is the correct way to build assemblies...

I am creating a rather complex robotic platform with many many individual components. Should I create the entire thing in one model window, creating and orienting each component as I go along, OR...should I create each individual component in it's own model window and then incorporate all the components into one separate model window....? It's a question about the best way to do this...

Many Thanks

I believe it's according to the components design, each case has it's own way

If the components are too complex, then I guess working in a separate window is the best call

If simple, then you can work in the same window, and then hide/isolate components, which also works in the 1st case

Choose the way that YOU feel better for you

@Veloflyte based purely by the number of posts you seem to be a new user of Fusion 360. Before giving advise I'd like to know what prior experience you have in other CAD software and with creating large assemblies ?

As it pertains to Fusion 360 I consider an assembly with 500 components a large assembly.
