Define a Construction Line

Is there a support document that defines a Construction Line? This is not a "How To" question. Yes, I know how to draw a Construction Line. Actually the better way to say this is that I know how to convert a regular line to a construction line. I know how to constrain a Construction Line. I know how to use a Construction Line to constrain another lines in a sketch. I wish to know what it is, not what difficulties other people are having with it. Is there a way to search the support files for definitions of things like this?

In my first few days of learning Fusion 360, I did not realize that Fusion 360 even had construction lines. And  now that I know that construction lines exist, other than the color and appearance of the Construction Line, how is it different than a typical line?

Hi @Inspections_JCH,

Thanks for posting. Construction line is temporary line which used for reference while creating and positioning the other line entity to make if fully constrain. These are not part of your close sketch profile.

In simple construction line is guiding line which help to draw main line which only used for reference not for profile creation.

I think this will help you to understand the difference between typical line and construction line.

Thanks,

Sagar

Other than color, dashed instead of solid, and the inability to close geometry boundaries, there is no difference Smiley Happy

p.s. You can toggle between creating regular curves(lines) and construction curves(lines) by selecting the 'Construction' option on the Sketch Palette.
