hello,

I'm wondering what file types can be imported and then edited (combine, cut, filled, etc)

I have tried stl and obj and was researching that to convert it, is a lengthy process. So I wanted to know the easiest files that can be imported and edited

Thank you

That depends on whether you have a paid or free license. The paid version allows import of some native CAD formats e.g. from Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks

In general CAD formats work best. Generic CAD data is usually found in .stp(.step) or .igs( .iges) files.

.stl files are triangulated meshes and are often problematic. They do not represent CAD data!

.obj files can include triangulated meshes (see .stl files) or quad-meshes. Quad meshes can be converted directly into T-Splines.

Hello, @takacosu, are you converting that human head mesh, or are you further on that project?

As @TrippyLighting already said, STEP and IGES files worked very well for me in the past.
