Form tool doesn't work as expected

Hello,

I am working on an automated slingshot for my kid, trying to create an enclosure using the form. Can't normally create a form within one assembly and edit it, but can do it in another assembly with the same components. Can someone help me to spot the reason? Thanks in advance.

PS sorry if the question isn't valid one, I am new to Fusion 360 and CAD in general.

You need to click on “finish form” so it auto-converts into a BRep. Then you can use the normal tools on it.

in the first example in your screencast, you are working with a Direct Modeling design (no timeline).  There is no "Form mode" in DM.  So, when you create the T-Spline (Form) body, it is not converted to a BRep (solid) automatically.  In DM mode, you must manually convert the model to a solid.  I'll add a screencast shortly to illustrate.

in the screencast, the first model has no timeline (Direct Modeling).  The Form toolset is available at all times.  I create a box, then have to manually convert it to a solid.  In the second model, there is a timeline (Parametric Design, History Design).  In that model, I have to create a Form feature, which puts you into Form mode, and makes the Form tools available.  You can create the Box, and then when you exit Form mode, that is automatically converted into a solid.  Look at the browser to show the different bodies.  Hope this helps
