Weird select when using select path for Engrave function.... Won't select certain letters.

Afternoon all,

Weird thing going on.  I've created this project twice..Still getting the same issue.

dregalia2014_0-1599683788987.png

As you see, it all selects here just fine.  I'm able to select the top ridge of the part I want to engrave.  When I try to select the raham part, I get nothing.  I extruded (cut) at the same time.  It's all the same SVG, but I can't select it.  I get the mouse hint to only select the walls.  Any thoughts or ideas?

The problem lies in the second "A" in Graham.  If you edit the sketch to remove that letter, the path selects as you expected.  You have a couple of options.  You can try and find the error, by isolating sections of the "A" and then repair it or you could maybe create a new sketch, on a sketch plane above the work, Project the good a, ending at key points, and them move the sketch into the bad "A" position.  Using a SVG file usually brings with it a few headaches.  My model, without the second "A" is attached by a different name if you want to look at it.

Thanks John,

Looks like you nailed it.  I had tried recreating the SVGs (as I have many other times) in Adobe Illustrator using a couple different settings, but no luck.

I dumped the file as a high res JPG and then thru it into vectorization (dot) org and told it to spit me out an SVG.  Probably could have used cloud convert as well... and It worked on the first try.

Thanks, I would have never had guessed that it was the SVG path.

Best Regards,
