Inconsistent Chamfer Operation

Hi there

I seem to be having a problem when using the chamfer tool in simple circumstances. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. When attempting to place a chamfer on the top four edges of a simple rectangle, sometimes it works on all four edges, sometimes it only works on three when using the tool the exact same way. Can anybody provide some insight as to why this is happening?

hi @Anonymous it would be helpful to see a screen recording to understand if there is a potential bug, problem with the geometry or a misunderstanding of the tool 🙂 - would you mind sharing a screencast or video + adding a file where chamfer failed you?

Also you mentioned a rectangle shape - It shouldn't pick all 4 but maybe it is the "Tangent Chain" turned on or off at different instances ?

@Anonymous - are you referring to the "two distance" or "distance/angle" versions of chamfer?  Yes, currently those options can be unpredictable (which side is used for distance 1 vs distance 2).  However, there is a project going on right now to fix this issue, it should be available later this year.  Apologize for the current inconvenience.

Yep you've got it! Very unpredictable but sounds like its under way. Cheers for that
