Voronoi installation

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I get problems on mac trying to install the voronoi plugin.

If I install the plugin it says installed succes (I downloaded it from the site and double clicked on it as i install all my programs)

When i open fusion 360, it is not listed under the scripts and add-ins, in the add-in tab.

Also i can't find it back in the menu (sketch, create, modify,...)

Do i have to install it on an other way or did i missed something, only found information to stop and uninstall the plugin but nothing to install.

Thanks for helping

Hello,

If you open the Scripts and Add Ins:

You should find the Voronoi in the Add Ins tab.

If you open the pkg file hold CTRL and click it to open the security settings.

Hope is of any help to you,

Best regards,

Ludo

Hello Ludo,

Thanks for trying to help me.

When I try to install the add-in it say it is successfully installed (see screenshot)

When i open fusion 360 and check add-ins it isn't listed. I downloaded the add-in from the autodesk app store.

I also tried to remove fusion 360 and installed again from the App Store en directly from autodesk (without App Store in case the add-in woud install in different location in the libraries folder, cause these 2 have different folders) but none of them work.

In neither of both locations i can find back any installation files of the voronoi bundle:

  • Mac OS (web install):
    • Script: ~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/API/Scripts
    • Add-In: ~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/API/AddIns

  • Mac OS (Mac App Store [MAS]):
    • Script: ~/Library/Containers/com.autodesk.mas.fusion360/Data/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/API/Scripts
    • Add-In: ~/Library/Containers/com.autodesk.mas.fusion360/Data/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/API/AddIns

Hello Roeland,

Just downloaded the Voronoi Sketch Generator again and installed it with no problem, not sure what's going on here.

For now do not know if I can help you with this but will check further.

Best,

Ludo

Hello,

This is what I did:

1) Downloaded the Voronoi Sketch Generator from the Fusion 360 App Store (same as you apparently): https://apps.autodesk.com/FUSION/en/Detail/Index?id=1006119760063675415&appLang=en&os=Mac

2) CTRL-click (to open the security dialog) this pkg file and confirm that it is OK to open the file.

3) Follow the installation instructions, provide password when needed.

4) Restart Fusion 360.

After installation the Voronoi Sketch Generator appears in the Create menu.

So, again, not sure why this does not work on your side.

Best regards,

Ludo

Tried the VSG in both Timeline and Direct modelling and it seems to work fine.

Also noticed that you run a Dutch OS, I have English OS on my computer, could it be that this causes the problem?

Best,

Ludo

Hello,

I Just did the exact same steps, It's not installed.

I tried it on my older macbook and there it worked, the only bad thing about that is that it is getting to old to run it smooth 😞

So Strange it works on one and not on the other.

Hi, not sure here but it seems that the language locale somehow interferes, maybe the writer of the Voronoi Sketch Generator add in @hanskellner could shine some light on this.

Best regards,

Ludo

Hi Roeland,

Do other Fusion App Store add-ins work fine on the problem machine?

Do both machines have Fusion installed from the Mac App Store?

Cheers,

Hi,

First on the new machine it was installed from the App Store, but to try i deleted it and installed directly from autodesk, that doesn't work either.

On the old macbook was directly installed from autodesk, didn't tested it from the App Store.

On the new macbook i have slicer installed for fusion 360 and i installed that separately.

Hello Everyone,

I got a Skype call with adam.nagy and he helped me out. Then reason the plugin didn't install is probably because I have a Dutch OS.

Adam did sent me the voronoi.bundle and we did put the voronoi.bundle manually in the following folder:

 /Bibliotheek/Application Support/Autodesk/ApplicationPlugins/

(Bibliotheek is the library folder in dutch)

I've added the voronoi.bundle in attachment if anyone would have the same problem.

Seems like this problem also apply to other plugins, only slicer did install correctly.

Special thanks to Adam.nagy to help me out and sent me the voronoi.bundle! 🙂

Hello,

Good to read you are up and running !

This is an example why I always install English OS.

Best regards,

Ludo

If you have the same problem then the above solution (copying the bundle that @Anonymous attached to the correct folder) should be a solution for you.

Hi guys, having the same problem with dutch OS but I can't find the folder  /Bibliotheek/Application Support/Autodesk/ApplicationPlugins/ on my system. I've searched all folders but no luck. Creating this folder doesn't do the trick either so where to put the files?

This should provide a workaround:
