Visibility Grouping

Is there anything like a selection set that works with visibility?  Something that will allow you to group several bodies and turn their visibility on and off with a single click?

If it fits with your design scheme, you can place the bodies (or components, if that’s what they are) into a master component, and switch visibility of that component on and off.

Besides what Ron said, there actually is a good way to what you want.  First you need to select the bodies you want to group.  You can do this, while holding Shift down in Windows, either in the Browser tree, which can be a little tedious if need to expand multiple components to get to desired bodies.  Or you can go to Select > Selection filters, uncheck Select all, then only check Bodies, and from there select the bodies in the model space while holding shift down.  Then right click and choose Create selection set.  Now when you want to change visibility of these bodies, find that selection set in the Selection set folder in browser tree, choose the Select option, which will select all those bodies in the set, then finally right click and choose Show/hide.  And viola!

Another related ability I use quite a bit is Inspect > Section analysis.

Hope the guitar is coming along well 🙂

Great solution, works like a charm!  Thanks Jesse, you bailed me out again!!!

Thanks Ron! That sounds viable too but I don't think I'm quite ready to tackle components. I'll save that for my next design.

Guitar is coming along great!.  I got all my body modifications done correctly now that my model stopped wigging out.  I just need to put in the holes for the tremolo mounting posts and I'm ready to start setting up the CAM portion.  I'm still going to model the rest of the hardware (tuning keys, toggle switch, jack, etc) even though those are not necessary for me to start the CNC prep work.  I think having all the hardware done gives me a better picture of what the finished product will look like.  I can't thank you enough for all your help!!!
