Vibration simulation possibility

Hello,

I am currently writing my final essay to finish my first 3 years of college schooling. I have to simulate cutting a piece of pipe on a lathe and inspect vibrations which are transmitted. I searched in Modal Frequencies but am unable to find or make that kind of simulation. Is it even possible to do that? I have education license for students.

The modal analysis (natural frequency) is the only type of "vibration" analysis that Fusion currently performs. I am not sure specifically what you want the analysis to do, but I suspect that you need something more complex than a modal analysis.

Inventor Nastran has different types of vibration analyses, such as frequency response (for sinusoidal loads) and random response (random vibration). You might want to investigate whether Inventor Nastran has the capability to perform your analysis.
