Variable Pitch Spring / Progressive Helix / Equation Support

Hey,

I want to create a helix with a progressive pitch!

Since I am a Mac user, I can't use Inventor to do it, nor use a Plugin which unfortunately are only available for Windows.

This feature was requested for years now. I know because I looked at every single "solution" that was posted since Fusion 360 emerged.

I even started requesting it in your surveys, where I was supposed to get an amazon coupon. But neither did I get a voucher nor the feature itself.

Can somebody please tell me, if you are working on such a feature and when we actually can expect the implementation of it.

Equation Support would immediately fix so many of the the workarounds we need to use to get our job done in Fusion.

I must have missed something in your Screencast Recording - I did not see a variable pitch.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Thats not what I need.

I am able to model a spring with a constant pitch.. but I need to make one with a progressive pitch!

See the picture below 😉

Okay,
There is a solution.
You can make the whole spring divided into some portion and edit the when the pitch changes on each portion.
Lastly, combine them into a single body.
Thank you.

No, it isn’t! It’s barely a workaround ..  I could fudge it together this way, but than it wouldn’t be a truly progressive and continuous helix!

Guys please! Every mayor 3D software can do this! Inventor, Solidworks, Blender etc.

Stop recommending ****ty solutions instead of demanding a dedicated feature!

For example:

You need to get the golden ration spiral perfect. There is currently no way to do this in Fusion! We need equation Support for those little things that are quite important to get perfect without fudging around!

5 years and still no answer... They really need to update the coil feature. I really could use a variable pitch coil right now for what we are doing but still nothing from fusion.
