vague sketch lines

Normally sketch lines are well visible, like this.

Now i am re-doing this design (it was an old design and now sheet metal is available I want to redesign it in sheetmetal) and somehow my skecthlines are really vague:

this is really annoying to work with. Any ideas on how I can resolve this?

Hi,

I'm wondering how you got the top screenshot and the bottom screenshot since the top one is not dim. From the images, it looks like your sketch lines are in a component that is not the active component. When one component is active, the others are dimmed slightly.

To check, find the component that owns the sketch in your model browser. Then click the activate button on that component. Does the sketch become less dim?

Usually it's just as @Phil.E said, but it looks like the sketch is inside of the body, and that sometimes causes the same problem

So if that's the issue, you can use the slice command in the sketch palette

Haha, that is a good question Phill,

The top screenshot is form an earlier design, the second one is the redesign, using sheetmetal. So although they look similar, the two images are from two different designs. 

Both designs have only one component, so I doubt if the sketch can be outside the active compent. And Saeed: you mean that the sketch plane is  inside the body and therefore greyed out?

Anyway: somehow the problem resolved itself after opening and closing a few times. I wish I could tell you what caused it, but I really don't know. Next time I know where to look first 🙂 thanks for the advise

Thanks for posting this, I think you found a defect. I could repeat the problem by these steps:

1. Make a box, shell it

2. Sketch in the bottom of the box, dimension a circle to be constrained fully.

3. Finish that sketch, and make a new one on the top "edge" of the box. This partially obscures the first sketch, which is expected, the profile will dim things that are behind it.

However, at this point the "dim" appearance of the first sketch is somewhat stuck. You can toggle off sketch 2 and it's still dim. After some more modeling it clears up and all is good.

So it's not very major, but it should not happen. Thanks for pointing it out!

And now, as I log the bug,  it doesn't reproduce :(. It may be fixed in development builds. Please let me know if you find a way to reproduce it so I can double verify the development build.
