using single canvass for multiple components

I have .png canvass that I have inserted into top level of my design, but...

this canvass will be used to create many different components within this design.

So when I acitivate another component (rather than the top one) to create a sketch, I can barely see the canvass, so it is not practical.

The only way I can see at the moment, is to create all the sketches at the top level where the canvass is visible, or have separate copies of the canvass for each component.

Am I missing something?

If you turn off the "Active Component Visibility" setting in preferences, you will be able to see your canvas from any active component.  See attached image for this preference.

It has never been a problem before (so never even had to think about it), but for some reason when I started new design, Fusion defaulted to "Active component visibility -ON"
