Curved face

Hi guys,

I am trying to figure out how to get a curved face on an object.  I have tried what little i know about fusion. But now i am stuck. you can look at the added picture for what i mean.

Can you File>Export and then Attach your *.f3d file here?

Do you want that curve to go all around the part (Sweep) or only on that face (Extrude)?

Do you have an image of an existing real world part?

That picture alone does not explain what you want.

Geometrically speaking, the intersection of a cylindrical form and a planar side that is tangent to that cylindrical form IS a straight line.

So, can you explain a little further what it is you would like to achieve?

I would like it to go around the whole part  (sweep) i have attached the file. i got a little bit longer but its not perfect. Did a midplane and sketched around the body. Then created a pipe to cut. hoping there is a better way to do it 🙂

The only way a side to a cylindrical form can have a curved intersection is if it is NOT planer and NOT tangent to the cylindrical form.

Ah.... now I see!

Using the Pipe tool is fine, if it produces the shape you desire. Of course, it is limited to square, triangular or round. If you want something more specifically controllable, such that you can adjust the exact geometry easily afterwards, then Construct>Plane on Path at one of the edges,  sketch the exact geometry you want, then Create>Sweep that geometry around the part.
