Using a coil to sweep a custom thread profile not working correctly

I followed a tutorial I found here to make a custom thread profile using a coil. So what I did:

- create a coil, triangular shaped

- draw a sketch shape on the plane at the start of the coil

- sweep this shape along the triangle edge

This should work fine but the further one goes along the coil the more the result gets out of shape and just weird looking

Use Sweep with Path and Guide Surface,

select the cylinder wall as the surface, and make no other changes.

Any idea why the shape is now divided into lots of faces? If I want to select the side of the thread I need to do this face by face.

I saw that / them, but didn't check on them, and not seen it in other Sweeps done here,

You can allso use the Path and Guide Rail, if you use the two edges of the coil, but as the Surface option is relatively a new upgrade, went for that.

Late here tonight will check back in the morning, see what others may think...

Change Visual Style to Shaded and the edges are gone.

Might help...
