User parameters scaling with my components.

Hi.  I've designed some flat pack, friction-fit fixtures and furniture "to scale" for tooling on my XYZ table CNC and want to profile cut some miniature models.  I've scaled the components, but all my parameter based dimensions (i.e. - material thicknesses, pockets / mortises) are scaling as well.  I want to fix these parameters throughout the model so they do not scale.   Help?

How are you defining the parameters? How are you scaling the models?

I'm in model mode.  I'm defining a parameter "t" (material thickness) in "user parameters" in the modify > change parameters menu item dialog box.  I can browse all the other model parameters in this dialog also.   To scale my model and all linked components I'm using the modify > scale dialog menu item.  I have my model grouped into a rigid group to keep the components positions oriented.  Should I be using assemblies?  All my components are static.  Thanks for your time.

Try scaling just the user parameters that need to be changed.

The "scale" is a timeline item. When you change the user parameters the timeline recalculates and the scale is applied after the user parameters have been evaluated.

As such, "scale" is the wrong thing to do. As @etfrench has mentioned you need to "scale" the user parameters. E.g. you could create a parameter called "scale" and then multiply all existing user parameters with that.

Ah. So I change "t" to t*.35+t , where .35 is my scale factor?
Can I concantinate like that?

Thanks! I think I can take it from here!
