User Coordinate System - Unexpected Behavior

Hello

The Timeline shows me 2 UCSs, but the Browser only shows 1 UCS

Does anyone have an explanation for this?

Thanks

When I add a user coordinate system to your file I only get 1 feature in the time line. Also tried creating a new file with a sketch then add UCS and still only get one in the timeline.

Are you getting this in all designs and have you tried closing and restarting Fusion?

Seems to be a bug. Try doing exactly what you did to end up with this in a new design and report the steps to reproduce it.

The problem occurs when I define a second User Coordinate System on the sketch.

I restarted my Computer and Fusion and created a new file, but the result is the same.

If I create a second user coordinate system without changing the parameters, the display in the browser is incorrect.

Ahh, I think I see what's going on here. It seems like it sees that there is already a user defined coordinate system at that exact position and orientation and doesn't create a new UCS, but instead references the existing UCS. The net effect is that both features in the timeline are for the same UCS entity. You can edit the first feature and the UCS will change, but if you do Modify -> Compute All it will update to the second feature in the timeline.

If you create two UCSs at different positions all is well, but if you edit one and change it to the same position and orientation as another UCS it will irreversibly be combined into one UCS. It seems like if you have anything referencing either UCS it will not combine them, which is good.

I'd still say it's a bug, but not that big of a deal.

Hi! It does seem like a bug to me. If the second UCS is not created, it should not be added to the timeline. Let me forward it to the project team and see if this is a known issue.

Many thanks!

Please do not mark threads with reported bugs as solved until the bug has been fixed.

The closed-loop-bot should take care of reporting the fixed bug bag to this thread. Then we can mark that post as the solution.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We're investigating the issue, and you can reference ticket FUS-256298 when communicating with Autodesk to find out more. Once the status of this will change, there will be a follow-up forum post made.
