Use user parameters of imported component

Hi,

I am working on a project for which I have to design Probe holders and a fixture to hold them.

The probe holders have been Imported as components into the design file of the fixture...

I have used user parameters to define the size of my probe holders and would like to use the same parameters to model my fixture, is there a way of referring to user parameters used in imported components? or can I somehow synchronize user parameters within one project?

If you use Insert Derive instead of insert you get the option to import parameters. 

Here you can see the parameters show under the derived component.

It works perfectly I just had to highlight the imported parameters in order to use them in my sketches.
